Reflexology
Reflexology: The word “reflex” means “response, impulse or impetuous effect”. It may also relate to the mirror reflection, which means that the reflexes on the hands and feet serve as the reflection of the entire feet Reflexology, which is also known as Zone Therapy, is an unconventional, alternative medicine, in which pressure is applied to the hands and feet with particular thumb, finger and hand in small movements without using oils, lotions or creams. This helps in stimulating the area that is far from the reflex point; and by using the nervous and restrained energy systems of the body, the disease heals itself without taking any medicine and/or going through any surgical processes. It primarily focuses on the feet, but sometimes hands and outer ears can also be used to apply appropriate pressure to treat different kinds of diseases. Foot and hand charts are used as a guide to applying pressure to particular areas of feet and hands. Many times, reflexologists use things, such as sticks of wood, rubber bands and rubber balls to apply needed pressure to the specific area of the hand and foot. Reflexology supporters believe that tissues, glands and organs are greatly affected by this applied pressure, resulting in promoting good health and active life. Moreover, reflexology serves as an effective health maintenance technique that can also be used to prevent various illnesses. It relieves body pain as well as alleviates stress and strain of the mind. Among many others, physical therapists, craniofacial therapists, massage therapists, therapeutic touch therapists, and chiropractors are all considered as practitioners of reflexology. Generally, reflexology is considered as a safe and harmless technique to treat ailments, although some people may become uncomfortable due to a very forceful pressure on hands, ear or feet. To avoid this, it is important to go to certified reflexologists who know how much pressure is needed in a particular area of the foot, hand or ear. This will aid you in treating your illnesses without any painful medical or surgical treatment. Some of the diseases that can be treated with reflexology include osteoarthritis, sinus, back pain, urinary tract infection, Stress and stress-related conditions, arthritis, insomnia, menstrual disorders, such as premenstrual syndrome (PMS), tension headaches, hormonal imbalances, sports injuries, digestive disorders such as constipation, nausea, knee pain and multiple sclerosis. Moreover, it also helps in weight loss, better sleep, fertility, anxiety, sciatica as well as aids in inducing labour.
