Kristie Ledwith Townsend My Professional Profile I’M KRISTIE, A Holistic and Beauty Therapist (VTCT, FHT, IIHHT, IIST, IHBC, NOCN, OCR/RSA , CIBTAC, C&G, AOR, ISAP, CAM – full membership and CPD with these awarding bodies and affiliations.) I am a fully Qualified, Insured, Professionally Endorsed & Practicing Holistic and Beauty Therapist, my career has spanned over a decade, and included me teaching 14-19 year old students anatomy & physiology, Beauty Therapy Treatments and Holistic Therapies. I'm the eternal student, always improving upon my theoretical and practical knowledge. I love making organic, natural, body care products, as well as researching, and devising my own recipes, remedies and blends. My Qualifications, to date, include a Diploma in Stress Management, Diploma in Holistic Therapies, BTEC National Diploma in Beauty Therapy Sciences, Reiki (levels4/5) Reflexology (I won the National Reflexologist of the Year 2003) amongst lots of other qualifications, all of which are recognised and independently Verified, Endorsed and Insured by professional / Industry training and awarding bodies. I received most of my highly regarded records of achievement, via the practioners awarding bodies achieving national & international accreditation. VOCATIONAL TRAINING CHARITABLE TRUST (VTCT) (VTCT), Vocational Training Charitable Trust, is a Government-approved awarding organisation which has awarded world class qualifications since 1962 and has been at the forefront of developing the vocational system of qualifications in the United Kingdom ever since. Our full qualification package includes Hairdressing & Barbering, Beauty Therapy, Complementary Therapy, Sport & Active Leisure, Hospitality & Catering, Business & Retail and Learning & Development. VTCT is involved in many of the new initiatives being introduced into the education system, including the embedding of general education skills and online-assessment. About the Association of Reflexologists (AoR) The Association of Reflexologists is the foremost aspirational and independent Professional Reflexology Association in the UK since 1984, providing benefits, advice and guidance to reflexologists and working with other external bodies and advisory groups to promote the highest standards in the profession. The Association of Reflexologists is not for profit and is the only UK reflexology membership organisation that are members of both RiEN , and the Reflexology Forum and also the CNHC and has representation at the Parliamentary Group for Integrated and Complementary Healthcare (PGICH). What is Reflexology? I achieved my Diplomas in Reflexology with AOR, FHT, and IIHHT. My Holistic Therapy Diploma, and Diploma in Stress Management were accredited by FHT, IHHT, VTCT,ITEC, EDEXCEL BTEC, IHBC, OCR / RSA, NOCN, CIBTAC, and C&G. I also am qualified to a Level 4 in a BTEC NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN BEAUTY THERAPY SCIENCES. AWARDED HOLISTIC AND BEAUTY FACIALTREATMENTS ACCREDITATION, AT A LEVEL 4, BY SUSAN MOLINQUE AND DERMALOGICA (UK). Amongst many other qualifications. Qualification standards FHT accepts practitioner level qualifications for therapy practice that meet the National Occupational Standards (NOS)1 and Core Curricula (CC)2 where available, or hold the relevant prerequisite3 that meets this standard4. As part of your application the FHT will need to see copies of your qualification certificates. Please note that FHT does not accept home study courses or Skype-led training for hands-on therapies. 1. National Occupational Standards (NOS) NOS describe the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to practise a particular therapy to a nationally recognised level of competence. They focus on what the person needs to be able to do, as well as what they must know and understand to work effectively. 2. Core Curricula A core curriculum defines the overall aims of a course, its learning outcomes, number and type of modules/units, course theory and practice hours, case study requirements and assessment. A core curriculum must contain the skills, competencies and safety defined in the therapy NOS. Below are the current therapy core curricula, which are available to download. 3. Prerequisites For post-graduate courses, the FHT requires appropriate prerequisite’s in training. For example, for FHT to accept specialist body massage courses in pregnancy massage, we will require you to hold an appropriate body massage qualification. To check that your qualifications will meet the FHT standards, please contact us. You can also join over the telephone making it a simpler process for you. 4. Individual Assessment Where an individual assessment of your training and experience is required in order to consider your application, additional costs may be incurred. You will be notified of any charges upon initial assessment of your application. I have achieved further education qualifications, and professional accreditation from numerous awarding bodies, during my professional career, Including VTCT, IHBC, FHT, AOR, ISPA, NOCN, OCR, IIHHT, ITEC, and CIBTAC. As a non-professional person then; I am a Cancerian, on the Leo Cusp with naturally red hair, Myers-Briggs personality testing declared me an INFP, TYPE 4/5 & SOCOIONICS labelled me as an IEI. = IF SOMEONE COULD TRANSLATE THESE RESULTS, FOR ME, I'D BE SO RELIEVED AND APPRECIATIVE. Recently diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder which I attempting to manage holistically and without the need for prescriptive medication. I refuse to be defined with this label exclusively.
